About
Born in the 1960s in Giessen and raised in Wetzlar, the Leica city, I came into contact with photography at an early age. I gained my first experiences with an analog camera in art class in school and my passion for taking pictures has accompanied me all the years. In the 1980s my studies (Computer Sciences, Pedagogy) and my career as an IT Project Manager took me to Frankfurt/Main, where I still live today.
I am a self-taught photographer. Initially, travel and family matters were my main topics. Since 2018 I have been focusing on artistic photography and the creation of series. My artistic approach is based on digital color photography. Personal themes often serve as the starting point for my projects. I am particularly interested in exploring objects, details, and materiality, as well as urban environments and locations. Important teachers for me were a.o. Gideon Mendel (Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, 2018), Marguerite Bornhauser (Recontres Arles, 2022) and Loredana Nemes (One-year-program at Ostkreuzkreuzschule für Fotografie, 2024-2025).
